you have to apply for the 131 for travel (advanced parole) and the 765 for a work permit (EAD). they don’t automatically come. also with that said they can be quick or they can take a long time.

after filing you just wait! if you filed I-765 this will be the first thing they’ll work on, you’ll get a notification for biometrics, after that if approved they’ll send you an employment authorization card + social security card only for work purposes (this is sent by another entity) and then you are permitted to work. You’ll still have to wait for your I-131 travel permit if you applied And get approved, and for I-485 too. once approved they’ll send you your green card + new SS card
