Interview Cancelled and Category changed
Hello did anyone here experience the same thing. I am from the Philippines and My father filed IR2 for me. The NVC scheduled an interview for February 16, but the USEM cancelled it on January 15 and then they changed my visa category from IR2 to F11 and my visa status went from ready to refused until now. I am very confused because an immigration lawyer told me that my visa category shouldn't have been changed. And I am worried because I turned 22 this March. Me and my petitioner email the USEM here in Manila but they haven't responded.

I experienced once in different type of case but it changed to interview was scheduled few weeks later after it cancelled. And I just got an interview today which was a month later. They just couldn't schedule for your appointment, but your case is totally fine, I believe.

Same here . Ir2 suddenly switched to f11 when the file was transferred to the Embassy. NVC said IR2.

were you able to contact the embassy switched it back to IR2?

I emailed back the NVC and told me that it is IR2. I emailed the Embassy but no response but when I spoke to USHELP Desk , According to their system it shows IR2. What is your embassy?

You can also go to Visa Journey. It happens many times especially in Manila Embassy. Where is. your case now?

Philippines. and okay nvc told us to contact us embassy because they’re handling thd case now. he just turned 21 in January. but we filed the I-130 when he was 19. i dont think he should age out. since it got approved when he was under 21 and also the petitioner has been a us citizen since 2000.

Yes! So I guess its not only me ...my I-130 was approved when my son was below 21

And they actually approved the expedite request and now the case status is “Ready” but then they changed the visa category ugh

NVC approved the expedite the ff day. It was fast. I was just shocked when the US Embassy got the case all of a sudden got shifted

but when I called the US Help desk , they said IR2. and they couldn't explained why the category became f11

someone answered like twice like after 16 mins of waiting and then just a minute of talking to her the call dropped.

its just nerve wracking to see the category got changed . But we should be ok. u may go to visa journey and you will see many filipinos have had the same issues .
