Day 919 was the lucky day
This was a long journey but I couldn’t be happier right now. Started with consular processing back in 2018 while we were living in my home country but ended up moving to the US during COVID to be closer to my husband’s family. Filed for AOS in Sep 2021 from here. There was no movement on the case after my biometrics in Feb 2022 but recieved a standalone EAD then AP later that year. We also moved to a different state (Minneapolis FO to Houston FO). Reached out to USCIS as soon as the case was outside of the normal processing time in Aug 2023 but nothing happened besides getting a generic response asking us to wait patiently. This January we reached out to a congressman and within 2 days (!!) he contacted USCIS and we got the “actively reviewing” status. Our interview was waived and got an RFE for medicals (we sent in one before the courtesy letter even arrived following our lawyer’s advice but it expired in the meantime). Medicals were received by USCIS last Friday, case updated to the 3rd “actively reviewing” status yesterday and the case was approved this morning. 32 months of waiting (out of the normal processing time of 16 for our FO) but we only care about the future from now on. Thank you for this great community for giving us hope when we most needed and I wish for all of you to have your approval day to arrive very very soon!

@S S ahh sorry I didn’t know you were also in the Houston area! Dan Crenshaw, Texas's 2nd congressional district (parts of Harris and Montgomery Counties). if you are his constituent too, it is definitely worth a try reaching out to him—even our lawyer said that he has never seen someone take action so quickly on a similar inquiry!

How did you move from your home country to the US if you were doing consular, we’re they not suppose to give you a visa after you have done the consular interview, I’m a bit lost, sorry.

I’m on day 920, reached out to my congresswoman and they responded to her almost a month later saying my case is normal processing times and I’ll have a response within 6 months. this is insane. now I feel like I can’t bother my congresswoman again.
