hey there, that’s the route I took. h1b to green card. first file your niw by writing a compelling letter, getting recommendations, publication ( if any) and proof of association membership. you have to show that you are great at what you do and the US will benefit from it. then you wait for approval

you don’t change you SSN, you update it. I got one automatically in the mail. for your employer, you have to update the paperwork to reflect you as a LPR. If yoh have global entry, you need to update it with your LPR information. other than that, not sure what else is needed.
