Case Processing
Day 919 was the lucky day
This was a long journey but I couldn’t be happier right now. Started with consular processing back in 2018 while we were living in my home country but ended up moving to the US during COVID to be closer to my husband’s family. Filed for AOS in Sep 2021 from here. There was no movement on the case after my biometrics in Feb 2022 but recieved a standalone EAD then AP later that year. We also moved to a different state (Minneapolis FO to Houston FO). Reached out to USCIS as soon as the case was outside of the normal processing time in Aug 2023 but nothing happened besides getting a generic response asking us to wait patiently. This January we reached out to a congressman and within 2 days (!!) he contacted USCIS and we got the “actively reviewing” status. Our interview was waived and got an RFE for medicals (we sent in one before the courtesy letter even arrived following our lawyer’s advice but it expired in the meantime). Medicals were received by USCIS last Friday, case updated to the 3rd “actively reviewing” status yesterday and the case was approved this morning. 32 months of waiting (out of the normal processing time of 16 for our FO) but we only care about the future from now on. Thank you for this great community for giving us hope when we most needed and I wish for all of you to have your approval day to arrive very very soon!

Mandamus
Hi guys, I need your help on these, My wife petitioned an i730 in 2014 and was approved on 2015 had a consular interview on December 2018 due to travel ban it has been stuck in administrative process till now.
Then we filed i130 on July 2019 and was approved on July 2022 when we hired a lawyer using a mandamus, I had my interview on December 5th 2023.
I want to file a lawsuit again, is it to early on the i130 or which case do we focus on, the two cases are on administrative process, I need your experience guys, thanks
My wife and our children are US citizens.
Writ Mandamus
I have been reading inaccurate information from many people here about when to sue.
You can sue at any time you want, even if it is a month after submitting your paperwork. Is it recommended? No! Can you do it? Yes. There’s no statute of limitations saying when is legally an excellent time to sue. USCIS's timeline is their estimate, but it is not a law.
Cons is suing.
- You might get denied quickly if your case is not strong
- You will spend a lot of money.
Pros
- You will be over with this nightmare.
Do not sue without a lawyer, the majority here have English as a second language, and the paperwork can be tricky and time-consuming. If you are willing to risk it, then it’s all you.
I’m not a lawyer, nor do I know the law to the extent of doing anything like that on my own, but when your car breaks, where do you go? To the mechanic. Let the lawyers do law and do not play with what you do not know.
Also, do not follow anything I'm saying. I'm just giving my opinion. I am not in a position to provide legal advice to anyone.
Stay informed, read, investigate, and pray. May God guide all of you and fill your hearts with peace. God Bles you all!
I am a child under 21 (at least i was at the time of filing) of permanent resident, and waiting for approval in my homecountry
my mother filed my case in november 2022, and since then there wasn’t any updates. Since then i aged out but i guess i’m protected by CSPA, though i learned i need to wait for my date to show up on visa bulletin before any decision from uscis. I looked it up and logically final decision date for my case will be available approximately in the fall of this year. I’d like to hear anyones thought on this!

Vawa has not been Approved
Omg I’m tired! I’m still here waiting. 1070 days today! Can’t even get the kind of IT jobs I want because it requires you to either be a GC holder or US citizen.
Wondering if I will get another Prima Facie before approval. The last one I got is expiring on 9th of April. I was even hoping I don’t get another one and get an approval instead, it’s starting to make me feel the more you get, the more days you have to wait for approval 🤦🏽♀️
Guys, is there anyone with the same timeline, that got approved recently?
Best of luck to everyone!
